The built in maintenance free lead-acid battery can work for 2-3 years, and the protection circuit in the lantern helps to preserve the battery for over discharge or over charge on the battery. It is a perfect emergency lamp that you can expect, it turn on automatically when the AC power runs out. With this one, No Black Out !

The Kaito AEL-2010 emergency lantern provides you with an excellent choice of light source for your camping trip, during an unexpected power outage or a natural disaster such as earthquake or hurricane. It provides up to 5 hours of battery life when using the high brightness setting, or 8 hours using the lower setting. An emergency-on circuit lights automatically during power failure when the lantern is plugged into an outlet with the switch set on low or high.

It uses 12V maintenance free Lead-Acid battery as the power bank, and be charged by AC 110V. It is easy to use and last long.
